Good Enough for What it Does
Compared to the other pantry apps Ive looked at, this one is pretty good, but there is still room for it to mature.
Being able to add items with the barcode scanner is great, but I wish I could also use the scanner to go straight to a previously added item.
Also wish there was a way to "link" 2 items with different barcodes to be treated as the same item for goal setting. For example, I always by the cheapest brand of distilled water: I wish I could set a buy/have goal for all distilled water and have all distilled water items count toward that goal regardless of UPC/Brand, but still be able to track price histories by barcode. I realize the overall quantity rolls up for the master water goal, but thats not the same thing.
As another example, if I want 20 cans of peaches in my pantry, I dont want to *have* to specify a buy goal of 11 Del Monte and 9 Kuners because I dont care which brand I eat from day to day, but I do want to track the price histories separately, because they sometimes go on sale at different times and at different stores.
All in all a good app, better than most, but still has some growing to do.
